Leola Cunningham

Leola Ilene (Donohew) Cunningham, 78 of Ripley, passed away September 13, 2024 in Mountainview Care Center, Ripley, following an extended illness.

She was born February 5, 1946 in Evans, daughter of the late Russell and Laura Fox Donohew. She worked as a seamstress and was a homemaker. Leola was a member of the Ripley Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and crafts but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved telling stories, going to church and her church family.

She is survived by her children Timothy Hall and Donna Kay and her husband, Scott; brother, Brycle (Lenore) Donohew; grandchildren Dustin (Miriam) Thomas, Emily (Matt) Cavender, Chelsea (Brandon) VanFosson, Cheyanne Hall, Tucker Hall, Cliff (Katie) Kay, Colton Kay and Rebekah Kay; great grandchildren, Ivory Thomas, Iden Thomas, Addy Cavender, Aleah Cavender, Skye Cavender, Asher Cavender, Raya Cavender, Declan Cavender, Wren Kay, Jordyn VanFosson, Rex VanFosson, Kane VanFosson and Waylon Shreve.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Cunningham; a grandson, Seth Hall; brothers, Charles Donohew, Teddy Donohew, Sam Donohew and Basil Donohew; sisters, Reva Patterson, Dorla Donohew, Alveta Ervin and Leone Brunty.

Funeral Service will be 6:00 pm Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Ripley Church of Christ, Jackson Ave, Ripley with Keenan Goosman officiating. Burial will be private in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 pm until the time of service at the church.
