Lewis Michael Holstein, 66, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his home in Sandyville. Michael was born July 2, 1953 in Madison, WV where he grew up and later made his home in Ripley. Michael never knew a stranger and would always give you the shirt off his back. He was a loving husband, father, and uncle. His favorite title though was Popaw Holstein. He retired from Long Branch Energy where he had over 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Glenna Price Holstein and his son Christopher Michael Holstein. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose Holstein; children Brandi Reese (Greg) of Madison, Jessica Johnson (Jody) of Cottageville, Michael Paul Holstein (Winter) of Sandyville and Tanner Scott Holstein (Bethany) of Sandyville; grandchildren Hannah, Haleigh, Jessica, Lacey, Olivia, Lilly, Arianna, Taylor, Jaxson and Case and one great granddaughter Leia. He is also survived by sisters Paula Wilcoxen of Alabama and Tiffany Burgess of New Haven as well as a host of family and friends in Boone and Jackson County. A service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
