Lloyd L. Grady

Lloyd Lavere Grady, 83, of Joe's Run Road passed away December 17, 2023 at Thomas Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born February 7, 1940 on Joe's Run, son of the late Carl and Mildred (Lupardus) Grady. He was a 1956 graduate of Ripley High School.

After serving in the US Army, he was employed at NAPA Auto Parts for well over 25 years, as well as other local auto part stores, including Carquest, Big A and Jackson County Parts. He was a lifelong farmer and never met a stranger, as he greatly enjoyed talking to people. He was an avid reader and passed on his love of learning to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Grady; daughter Amy Conrad (Jimmy); daughter Sara Wyer (Kevin); son David Grady (Beverly); grandchildren, Samantha McCormick (Jonathan), Laura Gillispie (Reese), Sydney Starkey (Jacob), Alison Wyer, and Jenna Wyer; great-granddaughter Stella Gillispie; and sister Dorothy May Grady. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Elmer Grady and his sister Hazel Grady Tolley.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sandyville.
