Lois June Dragoo

Lois June (Staats) Dragoo, 83, of Portland, OH passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.

Lois was born February 2, 1941 in Jackson County a daughter of the late Darrel and Erma (Riggs) Staats. She was a beautician by trade with over 40 years of service at several salons in the Ripley and Parkersburg area. Lois had a deep love for her family and all the time she got to spend with them including boating, family vacations, shopping and family gatherings at her home.

Lois is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry R. Dragoo; son John Southall; daughters Debra Anthony and Cindy Hall. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Lois was preceded in death by a son, Michael Southall; daughter Rachael Smith and brothers Charles and Denzil Staats.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 29th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Bud McVey officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
