Lorraine Springston Marshall, 88 of Ripley went to be with her Lord on November 23, 2015 at Oak Ridge Center after an extended illness. She was born in Gilmer County on March 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Glen and Edna Minigh Springston. Lorraine graduated from Sand Fork High School and afterwards from Glenville State College. She became a teacher in Gilmer County in a one room school and after that taught at Sand Fork Elementary School for many years. She is survived by daughter, Dr. Carol Foster of Charleston; son Bill Foster and his wife Tammy of Glenville; sister Betty Carmany of Orrville, OH; grandchildren Jennifer Head and Melissa Head of Morgantown, Blake Foster, Ben White of Glenville and Natalie White of Grantsville. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Yerkey and Erma Collins and grandson William F. Foster III. Lorraine's request for cremation is being honored by her family. A private family service will be held at a later date. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is serving the family.
