Louise Bowling Pack

Louise Bowling Pack, 93 of Ripley passed away July 7, 2021 at her home following a long illness. She was born March 25, 1928 in White Sulphur Springs, WV, a daughter of the late John H. and Zula Coffman Bowling. She was a graduate of West Virginia University and retired from the Jackson County Board of Education where she taught for 25 years at Gilmore High School, Ripley Middle School and Ripley High School. She also taught in Pt. Pleasant. Lou was very active in her community being a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Jackson County Retired Teachers Association and the WVU Alumni Association. She served with the Auxiliary at Jackson General Hospital. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women, Friendship Circle and the Andrew Callers. She is survived by sons, John W. (Stacey) Pack Jr of Washington, NC and Dennis E. (Pam) Pack of Richmond, VA; daughter-in-law, Coya Pack of Newark, Ohio; also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years John W. Pack Sr., a son, Paul Bowling Pack; brother, John Bowling Jr and sisters Eleanor Hardaker, Becky Whited and Anna Conner. Funeral Service will be 12:00 pm Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Dr. Ford Price officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Waybright Funeral Home Facebook page under Videos beginning at service time. Memorial donations in memory of Louise Pack may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church, 299 Church St N, Ripley, WV 25271, the Ripley High School Scholarship Fund, P.O Box 921, Ripley, WV 25271 or Kanawha Hospice, 1001 Kanawha Blvd E, Charleston, WV 25301. Louise would like to thank the community of Ripley of which she has been a part of for 55 years. Living in a small town has so many advantages! She loved her neighbors, friends, her church and the West Virginia Hills!
