Leota Lucille Kittle, 98, of Ripley passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was born in Roane County May 10, 1917. She was the youngest of seven children born to Albert D. and Fanny May (Moss) Paugh. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters and her husband of 48 years, Charles H. Kittle. Before her marriage, she worked for a local attorney and in the agricultural office in Ripley. During World War II, she was member of the Ripley Women's Club and the Rebekah Lodge. Lucille attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley and later was a charter member of the Old Hickory Chapter of NSDAR of Jackson County. She is survived by daughter Kristina Jo "Kitty" Copper of Jacksonville Florida and Katherine Jean Kittle (Rupf) of Atlanta, Georgia; three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Our family wishes to thank Betty Myers, Louise Rhodes, Patty Snyder, Bobbie Chubb, Comfort Keepers, Amedisys Home Health, and the staff of Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston for all their special care of Lucille. Funeral service for Lucille will take place at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016. Visitation will precede the service from 12-2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
