Luther James Roton

Luther James Roton, 77 of Ripley passed away May 18, 2015 at Eldercare of Ripley following a long illness. He was born April 8, 1938 at Falling Rock, WV a son of the late Jesse James and Ruth Strickland Roton. He was a truck driver for many years including time with Burdette Trucking and Miller Trucking. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Fields Roton; sons Jeffery Roton of Parkersburg and Luther James Roton Jr and his wife Jeri Roton of Belleville; daughter Cynthia Steed of Ripley and special granddaughter and love of his life Jessica Ann Steed.; sisters Rosie Johnson of Columbus, OH, Belle Williams of Eskdale, WV and Blanche Lyons of Cottageville; two special aunts, Lillie Collins of Newton and Mae Strickland of Clendenin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Mark Roton and Jesse Lee Roton. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Aplin Cemetery, Gay.
