Marcelene Starcher

Marcelene Starcher, 84 of Liberty passed away July 9, 2025 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following an extended illness.

She was born June 18, 1941 at Frogs Creek, daughter of the late Harry and Jewell Halstead Cochran. She attended Emma Chapel Church and was a homemaker and caregiver for many. She enjoyed crafting, 4-H for many years, traveling and eating out. Marcelene enjoyed giving and getting hugs from all of her grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Royal Starcher; sons Harry Cletus Starcher and his fiancée Patty Rider and James (Karen) Starcher; grandchildren Justin (Iris) Starcher, Jarrod (Jessica) Starcher and Camichell (Nathan) Selby; great grandchildren, Lenny, Clara, Rebecca, Jarrod Jr., Grace and Brady; brother, Dorsel Cochran.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Junior Cochran, Marvin Cochran, Curtis Cochran and Dennis Cochran and sister Glennis Farmer.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Friends may call from 1:15 until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery, Liberty.
