Marcus Taylor Kelley

April 15, 1992 — October 15, 2017

Marcus Taylor Kelley, 25, of Morgantown, WV went home to a better place on Sunday, October 15, 2017. Marcus Taylor Kelley was born on April 15, 1992 in Teays Valley, WV, to parents Stacy Renee’ (Wilson) Shamblin and Dewayne Paul Kelley. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 2010 with the heart of a Ripley Viking. Taylor was a loving son, brother, and friend. Taylor was an unique soul that examined the world in creative and remarkable ways with an ever evolving faith. He could always be found with his guitar in hand and a circling crowd which displayed his love and appreciation for arts and music. Another deep rooted love of Taylor’s was his love for the outdoors, which was fostered by his grandfather, Tracy Wilson. This led to his years as an avid member of Boy Scout Troop 440 where he achieved the rank of Life. Taylor was a charismatic and generous young man which was apparent with his need to take care of all those around him. Another shining example of his heart and soul was shown through his love of animals. As his final act of generosity and kindness, Taylor made the decision to give life to others through the donation of his organs. He will not only live on in our memories but through the lives of others. The family would like to give a special thank you to Ruby Memorial Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) staff for their care and comfort. They would also like to thank the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE). Services will be Saturday October 21, 2017, at Waybright Funeral home in Ripley, WV. Visitation will be held from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Funeral services will follow at 3:30pm. Everyone is invited to a reception at Ripley First Church of God (3720 Cedar Lakes Road) after the service. Pastor Tim Brewer will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to Ripley First Church of God, 3720 Cedar Lakes Rd, Ripley, WV 25271; or Jackson County Humane Society, 86 County Farm Road, Cottageville, WV 25239. Taylor was preceded by grandparents William Jasper and Reva Mae (Fields) Shamblin; Great Grandparents William Wesley and Bernice Madelynn (Ratcliffe) Carrier and Tracy Granville and Margret Prue (Greene) Wilson; and Great Uncle Wayne Lee Pauley. Taylor is survived by parents Michael Lee and Stacy Renee’ (Wilson) Shamblin; and Dewayne Paul and Kimberly Marie (Lewis) Kelley; and siblings Alexandria Renee’ Shamblin, Michael William Tracy Shamblin, Gracie Marie Kelley, and Trenton Beau Kelley; Grandparents Tracy Roland and Mary Beth (Mullins) Wilson and Monica Faye Carrier, and Great Grandmother Mary Louise (Osborne) Mullens.
