Margaret Ann Brown

Margaret Ann Brown, 81, of Cottageville, WV, left this Earth to be with her beloved husband Jack Benton Brown on December 14, 2023.

Margaret and Jack were blessed with four children. Gary Brown (Jacquie) of Ripley, Beverly Moore (Michael) of Mineral Wells, Amy Kay (Jason) of Fairplain, and Melissa Brown of Ravenswood.

She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Brooks(John), of Beckley, and Tammy Thomas(Adrian) of Beckley, Grandchildren Phillip Berry(Melissa), Cody Brown, Corey Stone, Tristan Stone(Callie), Brandon Kay(Lauren), Kalie Berry, Josh Kay, Austin Kay, Megan Kay and Haylee Brown.

She had several great grandchildren, Scott Berry, Huett Jesse Stone, Josie Berry, Raya, Ryatt Kay and Teagan Kay.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Roop and Arizona Leona Roop and by her loving grandson, Jesse Brown.

Margaret was born on January 22, 1942, in Beckley, West Virginia. She graduated Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia with a degree in teaching.

Margaret was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was also a teacher in the Jackson county schools for many yrs and in her later yrs she became a subsituded teacher in many other counties.

She had many friends and church members as well as students that she had in class over the years that she never forgot.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 501 South Ritchie Ave., Ravenswood, WV 26164 on Monday, December 18, 2023.

The family time is from 11:00-12:00. Friends and family can visit before the service from 12:00-2:00. The service will begin at 2:00 and be officiated by John David Freshour.

Graveside services will be at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV, following the service.
