Marian Marie Greene

Marian Marie Greene, 91 of Ripley, passed away December 27, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following a long illness. She was born January 4, 1928 in Fairplain, a daughter of the late Luther and Ivy Braham Rhodes. She was a 1946 graduate of Ripley High School. Marie was a Homemaker and farmer and worked as a cook for 20 years at Cedar Lakes. She was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple. Marie loved quilting and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ray Greene; brothers, Luther Rhodes Jr., Ernest Rhodes, Leon Rhodes and Carl Rhodes; sisters Ruby Parsons, Velma Landis and Mae Randolph She is survived by her son James Ray Greene and his wife Robin; daughter Mildred Faye Greene; brother James Wendall “Dusty” Rhodes; sister Hazel Randolph; grandchildren Amanda Kukuk, Julie Ludwick, Jamie Greene and Lindsay Greene. Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Given. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
