Marjorie Pillar, 85, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Eagle Pointe in Parkersburg. She was born March 16, 1936 at Ripley a daughter of the late Estel and Norma Lee Smith. Marjorie graduated from Ripley High School Class of 1955. She was a woman of faith and will be remembered as a prayer warrior. She loved singing and worshiping at Faith Fellowship Church where she was a member. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her Bible, having read it cover to cover 17 times. Marjorie is survived by her children Allen King of Sterling, VA, Robert J. King of Fountain, CO, Kathy J. Curry of Ripley and Aaron Pillar of Sandyville; siblings Helen Parsons of Ripley, Russell Smith of Ripley, Vernon Smith of Ripley, Barbara Easter of Ripley, Donald Smith of Ravenswood, Mary Stanley of Sandyville, Bonnie Fiest of Grove City, OH, Gail Darnell of Ripley and Eileen Cunningham of Ripley. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pillar; brother Conrad Smith and sister Noreen Good. A funeral service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 18th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Deron Smith and Joey Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
