Marlin Jim McClain, 54, passed away September 8, 2020. He was born December 2, 1965 in Beckley, son of Orin McClain and Ruby Ilene Ray Shamblin. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and later joined the US Navy. He loved fishing. At a young age he was taught to Crochet by his grandmother and enjoyed crocheting Blankets for his family. He is survived by his daughters, Amber McClain and Victoria Slaven (Zach); father Orin McClain and mother Ruby Ilene Ray Shamblin; brothers Wyatt McClain (Tina), Bart McClain (Betsy) and James McClain (Kelleyn); sister Mona Fields (Roy); grandson Mason Slaven. Also survived by several Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Morgan McClain and step-mother Marianne McClain. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Ferrell Cemetery, Vicars Ridge, Roane County. Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
