January 13, 1932 — April 8, 2014

Marshall Junior Comer 82 of Ripley passed away April 8, 2014 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born January 13, 1932 at Advent, a son of the late Marshall and Belva Rowley Comer. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Ripley Chapter I.O.O.F where he served in many offices and was a retired Patriarch Militant. He served in the American Legion Post 107, Ripley, as the Post Commander for 12 years and was a Lifetime member of the VFW Post 3488. Junior was known as an accomplished businessman in Jackson County and operated many different types of businesses during his career. He is survived by his wife Ruby Utt Comer; his children Joe Comer and his wife Sheri of Kenna and Connie Easter and her husband Scott of Ripley; his grandchildren Tasha Hardesty, Kyler Easter, Padon Comer, Ryan Staggs and Henry Rhodes; great grandchildren Kegan and Braxton Hardesty; brother Gary Comer of Ripley and Sisters Nadine Fisher of Charleston and Nola Gray of Ravenswood. He is also survived by children from a former marriage, Darlene Rhodes, Sherry Casto and Tim Comer. The Family would like to thank Dr. Stanton for his kindness and care given to Junior during his illness. Funeral Service will be 2 pm Friday at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev Jack Miller officiating. Burial with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 107 will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 5 to 9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
