Martha Ann Stahlman

Martha Ann (Ellison) Stahlman, 83, of Gay passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born January 21, 1939 in Roane County a daughter of the late John and Edith “Emily” Starcher Ellison. In addition to her parents Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul Stahlman. Martha was a nurse by trade and worked for many years at Roane General Hospital before finishing her career at Eldercare in Ripley. enjoyed reading her Bible as well as working her puzzle books and word searches and enjoyed her sweets, especially a good cupcake. Most of all she was a dedicated wife and mother to her family.

Martha is survived by her children John Paul Stahlman, Cheryl Ann Terrell (Allen), Lisa Raines (Greg) and Cary Stahlman (Sherri); brother John W. Ellison (Karen); sister Launa Ray (Raymond); grandchildren Chris Stahlman, Shauna Copley-Gross (Bill), Chad Raines (Millie), Ashley Sheppard (Michael), Casey Nettles (Calvin), Brittany Ward (Paul), Cory Raines (Samantha King), Chasity Raines(John Bunner), Lindsay Fluharty (Michael) and C.J. Stahlman; great-grandchildren Haylee, Sarah and Cameron Copley, Hayden Stahlman, Elliot, Reese, Ethan, Beckett and Charlotte Sheppard, Elaina Raines, Carter and Colt Raines, Talan Bunner, Leif and Addison Ward, who is on the way. She is also survived by a great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 18th at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Holley officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Beech Grove Cemetery at Billings in Roane County.
