Mary Evelyn Richards, 87 of Sandyville, passed away May 25, 2024 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.
She was born February 7, 1937 in Clay County daughter of the late Harley and Ida West Ferrebee. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers and sewing. She was a Christian and member of the Mt Hope Church of God where she was a faithful servant until her health would not allow.
She is survived by her children, William C. (Barbara) Ferrebee, Bobby G. (Crystal) Richards, Jr., Belinda J. (Richard) Snyder and Lucillia “Lucy” M. (Larry) Cooper all of Sandyville; brother, Charles W. Ferrebee; sister, Mildred Bullard. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Richards Sr., an infant son Randall Paul Richards and two granddaughters. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Everett, I.E. ”Doc”, A.B. “Buck”, A.P. “Cowboy”, Hubert, A.D. “Bud” and Robert; and sister Maysel Rhodes.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Hinzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
