Mary Ann Spainhour

Mary Ann Spainhour, 82 of Ripley, passed away October 29, 2015, surrounded by family at her home. She was born July 24, 1933, in Charleston, a daughter of the late Clyde and Rosetta Arrington Lawrence. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by sons, Mike (Cindy) Spainhour, Doug Spainhour (and life partner, Sharon Thompson) all of Parkersburg and Dave (Lola) Spainhour of Spokane of Washington; daughter, Kay (Howard) Beegle of Ripley; grandchildren, Casey Beegle, Jonathan Gump, Joshua Spainhour, Brandon (Jackie) Spainhour, Stephanie (Brandon) Westfall and Emily Spainhour; great grandchildren Mackensie Gump, Amelia Spainhour and Brantlee Westfall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Martin "Sonny" Spainhour on October 9, 2014; her brother, Bud Lawrence and grandson, Sean Spainhour. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother and grandfather Lillian and George Arrington and aunt and uncle Mary and Jim Duff whom she had a very special bond. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (one hour prior to the service) on Tuesday. Following the service the family would like to invite all to join them at John and Mary's house for a time of food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or to Kanawha Hospice.
