Mary Marie Tanner

Mary Marie Tanner, 62 0f Ripley passed away January 2, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born April 15, 1953 in Clay County, a daughter of the late Russell and Masel James Burnside. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at the Sewing Factory. She attended the Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood. She is survived by husband, Richard Tanner; son Timothy Tanner of Ripley; sisters Glenna Starcher of Reedy and Helen Harmer of Youngstown, OH; brothers Branney Burnside of Florida, General Burnside of Spencer, Lashey Burnside of Rosedale and Carlos Burnside of WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Russ Tanner. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Starcher Church, Stinson, WV. Burial will be in the Coen Cemetery, Stinson. Friends may call on the family from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday at the Church. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
