Matthew Alderman

Matthew Warren Alderman, 46, of Ripley passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. He was born May 28, 1970 at Charleston, WV a son of Sandra Quesenberry Alderman and the late Veldra Alderman. He graduated from Ripley High School with the Class of 1988 and went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp and fought in Desert Storm. Matt loved working with his hand and could fix anything he came across. He enjoyed hunting, loved kids, and was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers fan. Survivors include his wife of 2 years Rebecca Roberts Alderman; son Cody Alderman; step-children Brianna McCune and Andrew McCune; brother David Alderman (Lynn) of Summerville, SC; maternal grandparents Margaret and William "Zeke" Tolley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Edward Alderman and Marie Eisenhart. Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Dee Rhodes officiating. Friends may call on the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial with Military Rites by the Jackson County Honor Guard will be in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.
