Maxine Smith

Maxine Smith, 86 of West Columbia, Mason County, WV, passed away May 25, 2023 in Pleasant Valley Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born March 25, 1937 in Wadsworth, Ohio, daughter of the late Leona Casto Pfost. She was a homemaker and farmer and managed a grocery store at one time. She loved flowers and enjoying nature.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. “Jack” Smith; brothers and sisters, Gene, Freda, Joyce, Richard and a nephew, Tom Crabtree.

She is survived by her daughters Jackie, Joan and Jeanette; nieces Tracy and Stephanie and nephew Tim. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley.
