Melinda Sue Willard Melinda Sue Willard, 37, of Ravenswood, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington following a lifelong struggle with kidney disease. Melinda was born on August 12, 1975 in Fulton County, Georgia, daughter of George F. Willard Jr. and Kathryn Patton Willard. She was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School and West Virginia University at Parkersburg. In addition to her parents, survivors include: Brother, George F. Willard III (Kathleen), of Knoxville, TN; Grandmother, Geraldine R. Willard of Charleston WV; Uncles, Tom Patton of Amelia OH, James Patton of Santa Maria CA, Harry Patton of Pineview GA, Gary Willard of Charleston WV and Mike Willard of Charleston WV; Aunts, Joyce Patton Doss of Glen Rose TX and Margaret Patton of Manassas VA. Preceding her in death were grandparents Emmit and Mary Patton and George F. Willard. A celebration of Melinda's life is set for Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Waybright Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley. Interment will follow the service at the Fairplain Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family has requested that those wishing to honor the memory of Melinda do so by making a donation in her name to the National Kidney Foundation and that flowers be omitted.
