Mendy

Melissa Dawn “Mendy” Ray, 51 of Winfield, died peacefully at her home on June 21, 2024.

She will be missed by her surviving family including the love of her life and soulmate, David Summers of Winfield ; mother Donna Moore Ray (Gary Absher) of St. Albans; father, John Ray (Janet) of Milton, DE; brother Jeff Ray (Kelley) of Parkersburg, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mendy was a proud graduate of Ripley High School, Class of 1991. She enjoyed taking care of her rescued animals, gardening, reading and most of all spending time with David Summers whom she loved with her whole heart.

Mendy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rex and Mary Ray and Herman and Lavella Moore who all lived in Ripley.

A Celebration of Mendy’s life will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Lucian Baker officiating. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
