Michael J. Dawson

Michael James Dawson, 69 of Ripley, passed away July 29, 2026 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following an extended illness.

He was born August 7, 1956 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Jim and Ruth Jarvis Dawson. Mike was a graduate of Ripley High School with the Class of 1974. He worked as a Mechanic for Walker Machinery. Mike was known as a man who could do anything and was a Master of all Trades, always ready to learn something new. He enjoyed riding Motorcycles especially his Harley Davidson. He was a collector, especially Antiques and often joked that he was an antique.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years (together for 48 years), Martha Bowman Dawson; sons Brandon Dawson and Trevor Dawson; sister Daphne Dawson and two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim and Ruth, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Dawson.
