Minerva Orla (Vineyard) Reynolds was born July 16, 1914, in an area known as Rush Creek in Roane County near Spencer, WV. She finished her earthly journey October 30, 2013 in Orange City, FL. Minn, as everyone knew her, trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at 14 years of age while praying with her godly mother. Her entrance into Glory was after serving her Lord for 85 years. In those years, she never wandered from God, but served faithfully in church as a young lady and then as a pastor's wife for all the 65 years she and Orland were married. After finishing 8th grade, she wanted to attend High School. In those days in West Virginia, for her to attend High School, it was necessary to live away from home. Her High School career lasted only two weeks. She was so home sick, she moved back home. At age 65, she got a GED and immediately enrolled in Liberty Home Bible Institute. She finished the four semesters in eleven months and graduated in grand style. She was a writer and published four books, including the story of Orland and her and their lives and ministry together. For many, many years she also published a monthly newsletter called the "The Sunshine Paper." It certainly did bring rays of sunshine to hundreds of people across this country for many years. Minn is survived by her two children, Martha Jane Siers and her husband, Robert of Chattanooga, TN, and John Allen and his wife, Becky of Orange City, FL. She had seven grandchildren: Kimberly Susan (Siers) Pauley, Terri Lynn (Siers) Tipps, John Mark Siers, John Allen Reynolds, Jr., April Dawn (Reynolds) Anderson, Adam Vann Reynolds, and Aaron Brock Reynolds. There are 22 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. One sister, Lola Iowa Bailes, who is 102 and lives in Charleston, is the last survivor of the immediate family of Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine of her siblings and one great grandchild, Aaron Brock Reynolds, jr. The entire family wants everyone to know we do not question our God's working and are humbly grateful for the extra-long time we were allowed to have Mother here with us. She has joyfully entered the blessed presence of our dear Savior and enjoys the reuniting with multitudes of loved ones and friends. Our loss is her gain. Our prayer is that any who do not know Jesus as their Savior would trust Him without delay and receive eternal life and His promise of Heaven when you die. There will be two funeral services. The first will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sat. Nov. 2, 2013 at Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City, FL. The second in Ripley, WV, at the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church on Wed. Nov. 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service. Anyone wishing to do so is urged in lieu of flowers to send a memorial gift to the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church for the ministry of the youth department where she taught many years and where her great grandson, Timothy Siers, now serves.
