Nancy Ethel Ramsey, a lifelong resident of Statts Mill passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Ethel was born February 27, 1932 at Statts Mill, a daughter of the late William and Anna Fields Fisher. She worked for 34 years as a dietary aide at Eldercare of Ripley before her retirement. Ethel was the oldest of 8 children and raised her 6 brothers and sisters, along with her own 4 children after her mother passed at an early age. She is survived by her daughters Connie Ancona (Joe) of Navarre, FL and Kathy Ramsey of Statts Mill; grandchildren Melissa Rogers (Robbie), Kane Combs, Michelle Stellato, Daniel James “DJ” Ramsey; great-grandchildren Brandon Rogers, Madison and Matthew Stellato and Liam Ramsey; sisters Bessie Sayre (Bobby) and Shirley Kay (Delbert). Ethel is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Denver “Buster” Ramsey; son William Ramsey; daughter Nancy Westfall; brothers Harold “Keith” Fisher and Alie “Abuck” Fisher; sisters Mildred Crihfield and Mertie Westfall. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Leonard Kessell officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Southall Cemetery at Staats Mill.
