Naomi Mae Bourgeois Fisher

Naomi Mae Bourgeois Fisher, 93, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 following an extended illness. She was born June 27, 1925 at Ripley a daughter of the late William H. Bourgeois Sr. and Pleasie Sayre Bourgeois. Naomi graduated from Ripley High School in 1941 at 16 years old she worked at Farmer’s Feed Store and Creamery from 15 years old until 1964 when she began to work at United National Bank as a bookkeeper. She would retire from United Bank in 1991 after 27 years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and quilting. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Shockey (Roy) of Ravenswood; sister Sandra Johnson (Larry) of Tennessee. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Rector Fisher; son George W. Fisher, and siblings James Bourgeois, Paul Bourgeois, William Bourgeois Jr., and Norma Thompson Cutlip. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30th at Morgan Cemetery on Ravenswood Pike, Ripley with John Gunther officiating.
