Naomi Ruth Parsons, 85, of Ripley, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2024. She was born
on December 23, 1938, in Ripley, WV to the late Herbert Casto and Eliza Spencer Casto. Ruth was a long-term member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Her greatest passions were her God and family, helping those in need, and acting as the Lord’s servant wherever she was planted. She demonstrated her life verse, Phil 4:13, as she encountered and recovered from ailments over the years while maintaining a cheerful and tenacious spirit. She was a loving and loyal wife to her husband for almost 64 years and was a self-sacrificing, generous, and adoring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, scrapbooking, fishing trips with James, and spending time with her adored dogs.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James Parsons; Daughters- Pamela Acree and Valerie Wilkerson; Brothers- Norman (Red) Casto and Paul Casto; Grandchildren- Matthew Acree, Katie Kellogg, Mandy Pierce, Gabe Wilkerson, and Regan Wilkerson; Great Grandchildren-James Pierce, Samuel Pierce, Marie Pierce, Canaan Acree, Leah Acree, Mira Acree, Deacon Acree, and Azariah Acree; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by brothers Billy Leo Casto, Bobby (Buck) Barker, and Pat Webb and sisters Becky Scaggs, Margie Simpkins, and Betty Grau.
A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, July 22nd at Pine Hill in Ripley, WV. Instead of flowers and to honor Ruth, the family asks that you consider donating to St. Jude’s at https://www.stjude.org/
