Norita Richards, 89, of Mount Alto passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 following an extended illness.
She was born, August 17, 1935 at Pennsboro, WV a daughter of the late Alva Seckman and Dorothy Elizabeth (Williamson) McCullough.
Norita was a homemaker who enjoyed listening to music, with her favorite soundtrack being the Sound of Music. She was also a talented quilter and liked to watch all different kinds of sports on TV. She will be remembered for all the wonderful dishes she cooked, with the family favorite being her sugar cookies. Norita was a member of the West Ripley Church of Christ.
Norita is survived by her children Cathy Lynne (Bob) Westfall, Teresa Renee (Bill) Anderson, Tina Marie (Jim) White and Timothy Paul Richards. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by dear friends Judy Dewees and James Riley and special neighbors Tim and Rosie Smith
In addition to her parents Norita was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Paul L. Richards; daughter Mary Elizabeth Dunn; great-grandson Benjamin Paul Westfall; siblings Carroll McCullough, Arlene Snyder, Don McCullough, Rosemary Doll and an infant brother, Robert McCullough. She was also preceded in death by longtime friend Luann Hussel
The family would like to extended a heartfelt thank you to Kanawha Hospice, Robert Raines and Andrea Cummings for their care and compassion in Norita’s final days.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17th at Waybright Funeral Home with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
