Okey Lee Ray, 79 of Gandeeville passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley following a long illness. He was born January 20, 1933 at Roane County a son of the late B.A. and Thelma Scarberry Ray. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a Heavy Equipment Operator. He attended the White Pine Church. He was known to help anyone in need. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Rosalee Ray, a son Randall Lee Ray; brother Golden Ray and sisters Gladys Thomas and Freda. He is survived by sons Danny (Mary Jane) Ray of Gandeeville, Okey James "Jimmy" Ray of Gandeeville and Robert Wayne (Debbie) Ray of Clendenin; daughter Kathy Jean (Randy) Westfall of Sandyville; brothers Oral Ray of Belgrove, Chester Ray and Pete Ray both of Kentuck; Sisters Mary Lou White of Kentuck and Brenda Mayneaf of Ohio; grandchildren Amanda Jean Ray, Michele (Jeff) Ray, Matthew Ray, Jeremy R. (Jodi) Westfall, O.J. Ray Jr., Joey Ray, Hannah Ray, Travis, Kelly and Josh; great grandchild Megan Duckworth. Also missing him is his cat, Luckers. Funeral Service will be 10 am Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Burial with Military Rites provided by Ripley American Legion Post 107 will be in the Ferrell Cemetery, Vicars Ridge. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
