Okey Parsons

Okey B. Parsons Okey Buster Parsons, 74, of Gay, passed away Friday evening, May 17, 2013 at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born January 23, 1939 in Jackson County, son of the late Lewis Grant and Esta Rhodes Parsons. He was a member of the Aplin Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, Medina. He lived for the love of his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving: His wife of 54 years, Nellie Kiser Parsons; Sons, Kenton Grant Parsons (Evelyn) of Gay and James Allen Parsons (Tracy) of Gay; Daughters, Tammy Rairden (Mike Corbitt) of Ravenswood, Patricia Ann Rhodes (Garry) of Statts Mill and Diana Rutter (Matt) of Gay; Thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Okey Parsons will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Interment with military rites by Ripley American Legion Post will follow the service at the Parsons family cemetery on Stonelick Road near Kenna.
