Ola Maude Bayes, 92 of Charleston, passed away December 13, 2016 at Eldercare of Ripley following a long illness. She was born August 22, 1924 at Swiss, WV, a daughter of the late Tillman and Eva Legg Graves. She worked as a PBX operator at Thomas Memorial Hospital for 22 years. She was a Christian and was saved at the Boomer Baptist Church and later she and her husband, Dana, were members of the Bible Center Church. She enjoyed crafts and sewing and traveling especially with her sisters as they went to Europe and Hawaii. She loved her family and being with them. She is survived by her son John Bayes and his wife Jennifer of Statts Mill; daughter Cheryl Meadows and her husband William of Charleston; brother Harry Graves of Boomer; sister Linda Stiehm of Westminster, CO; grandchildren B.G. Hamrick, Tony Meadows, Magen Hendrickson and Jed Bayes; step grandchildren Sarah and John Keeney; great grandchildren Makenzie and Whitney Hamrick and Isla and Abbey Hendrickson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dana Bayes; sister Mary Ferrell and brothers William Paul Graves and Tillman Okey Graves Jr. Funeral Service will be noon on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Franklin Howerton officiating. Entombment will be in the Elk Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Big Chimney. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
