Otho "Bosch" Milam, 92, of Fisher Ridge, Kenna, WV, passed away on August 27, 2014 due to complications associated with artery disease (PAD). He was born on May 2, 1922, to the late Walter and Margret (Berry) Milam. He was preceded by siblings: Shelvie, Shockey, Guy (Marie White) and Denver (Louise Sayre) Milam, Hazel, Corrina (Foster) Skeens (John) Comer, Beulah (Charles) Davis, Rona (Frye) Carte and Frona (Fred) Comer (Carl) Lanham (Calvin) Harding. He was preceded by nephews Shelby, Walter (Pat Canterbury) Lee, and Daniel Milam and Richard "Rickey" Davis and great-nephew Corey Smith and great-great niece Karrigan Shaffer. He is survived by his son Russell Milam and step-daughter Connie by former wife Faybella Harrison and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Otho lived with Bobby Davis (nephew) and his wife Terry for over six years after a heat stroke and prior to failing health which required extensive professional healthcare. Prior to his demise, he resided at the Cedar Ridge Center in Sissonville, WV, where friends and neighbors worked. He was visited by John Comer, Sue Carpenter, Roger Carte, Bobby Davis, George, and the Milam Girls. Family members provided clothing that were altered by his niece Arbutus Comer and monogrammed by Elana Comer. He had all types of caps that Sue got him. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed singing, yodeling and tap dancing; he continued to sing, yodel, and play his harmonica, and listened to church services at the nursing home. He also sung for the women at the dialysis center. He sung I Followed Her Footsteps in the Snow to his 100 year old brother Denver during their last visit on Thanksgiving. He always enjoyed being taken by nephews Henry and Ralph Carte to Thanksgiving Dinner with the Milam Bunch (Guy) where he continued his tradition of eating both turkey legs. Over the years, he was known as "Bosch" and also "Doll" due to greeting people as doll. While riding his bike, he met many people who would enjoy a beverage with him including his aide Caroline who called him papa as many of the staff called him. He pasted time at the local store owned by Tommy Sisson who later offered him a drink while delivering cokes to the nursing home. Ruth Ann Fields picked up a birthday cake for him when a family member had transportation problems. The Colemans comforted him at his brother's funeral. Jean Thomas slipped him a dollar now and again at the coke machine. Regardless of how he felt you could always hear a radio preaching and singing the gospel as he sat on the porch on Sundays. When asked Otho indicated "I'm right with the Lord and Blessed Sweet Jesus will take care of me." The last night that he was heard praying he repeated several times "I love everyone." "Bless the Sweet Lord." Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Spencer officiating.
