Patricia Parrish Staats

Patricia Lee Parrish Staats, 76 of Ripley, passed away peacefully in her sleep from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on July 21, 2017. She was born August 5, 1940 in Bloomington, IL, a daughter of the late Everett and Ella Mae Parrish. Patricia was a 1958 graduate of Ripley High School. While raising her family she was active in supporting the Boy Scouts, the Rebekah Lodge and served as clerk for Magistrate Court. She retired from Harris Teeter Corporation. The joy in her life was being with family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Donald Staats and his wife Bethany of Cottageville , Mary Alice Hume and her husband Mark of Manassas, VA, Leigh Burr and her husband Shayne of South Charleston and Alan Staats and his wife Kimberly of Ripley. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several extended family members. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great grandson, William Andrew Hume; a sister Helen Parrish and a brother Wally Parrish. Funeral Service will be 7:00 pm Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Kenny Asbury officiating. Friends may call on the family from 5 to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Private committal service and burial will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley. In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests donations in Memory of Patricia to the Michael J.
