Patricia Ann (Bass) Ramsey, 79, of Sandyville died August 31, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Born November 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late William S. Bass Sr. and Lilly Ellen (Parsons) Bass. Patricia, known as Pat or Patty to her friends, was a graduate of Ripley High School Class of 1963. She married Denver “Lee” Ramsey in December of 1963. Pat was employed at the Ripley Dairy Queen from 1963 until 1965 when she became a full-time homemaker and mother. As her children grew older, Pat found enjoyment in activities related to their interests. She had served as a school volunteer at Gilmore Elementary, spending most of that time in the school library; was a co-founder of Project Desert Storm that sent packages to local soldiers stationed in the Middle East during Desert Storm; was past treasurer of the Ripley High Athletic Boosters, volunteered for Jackson County Special Olympics and received an award as part of the West Virginia Special Olympics Family of the Year. Before retiring to care for her husband she worked in the Craft Village at Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park. Pat attended Drift Run Church where, just prior to her diagnosis, she stepped out of her comfort zone to participate in the Ladies Funny Fashion Show. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was also up for a road trip, especially if the trip included thrift shopping.
Patricia is survived by her children Belinda (Mike) Staats of Medina, Scott (Alisha) Ramsey of Eureka, MT and Mia (Pascal) Goedertier of St. Epain, France; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Colin (Christie) Metz and Laura and Charleigh of Sandyville, Chloee Berry and Luke and Lennox of Sandyville, Jarrod Ramsey of Eureka, MT, Ashton (Travis Urbanick) Ramsey and RyLee Ann of Columbia Falls, MT, Jordan Ramsey of Grayson, KY, Estelle Pastorino and Niels Pastorino of St. Epain, France, Brittany (Tim Davis) Arthur and Kason, Kasen and Tucker of Lubeck and Scott (Sonya) Staats and River of Lubeck; special nephew Kenny (Katie) Bass of Bradenton, FL; sisters-in-law Virginia (Larry) Moffatt, Dorothy (Herman) McCauley and Mary Shackelford along with several nieces and nephews.
