Paul F. Stahlman, 78 of Ripley joined his parents and the angels on February 1, 2015. He was born January 30, 1937 in Roane County to John and Ruth Smith Stahlman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John David (Anna) Stahlman, brother in law John Gandee, great granddaughter Zoey Raines and great grandson Owen Sheppard. He is survived by his wife Martha Ellison Stahlman. They just celebrated 59 years marriage on January 14th; sisters Norma Jean (Paul) Randolph of North Carolina and Peggy Sue (Fred) Greathouse of Spencer; children John Paul Stahlman, Cheryl Ann (Allen) Terrell of Reedy, Lisa (Greg) Raines and Cary F. (Sherri) Stahlman both of Ripley; grandchildren Chris Stahlman of Oregon, Shauna (Bill) Copley-Gross of South Carolina, Chad (Heather) Raines of Charleston, Ashley (Michael) Sheppard of TX, Casey (Calvin) Nettles of Duck, Brittany (Paul) Ward of St. Albans, Cory (Samantha King) Raines, Chastity (John Bunner) Raines, Lindsay Stahlman and C.J. He also leaves behind his four dogs that he spent his time with, Bailey, Bella, Digger and Bubby. Paul was the former owner/operator of Stahlman's Concrete Supply. Before that he worked for the Department of Highways. Once he retired, he continued to work full time on his farm, which was his passion. Summers you could find him in the hay field and in the winter in the barn with his sheep, cattle and birthing of new life. He was a big supporter of the Jackson County Jr. Fair and enjoyed spending time there during fair week. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, who in turn loved him beyond measure. In the words of his granddaughter, "He leaves quite a legacy behind him. I am thankful to have had this man in my life and for all the values he taught his children. Life won't be quite the same without him, but I'm so thankful for the memories of him. One thing's for sure, Heaven just gained on of the most ornery angels."
