Phyllis King Harlan

Phyllis Irene King Harlan, 94 of Ripley, passed away April 12, 2020 at her home following a long illness. She was born November 1, 1925 in Roane County, WV, daughter of the late Oma and Hazel Roberts Atkinson. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Roane-Jackson Technical Center where she taught Nursing. She was a member of the Novelty Club in Spencer and a member of the Red Hat Society in Ripley. She is survived by her children, Steve King and James King; grandchildren Shawn, Stephen, Scott, Robert, Robin and James along with great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William King and her second husband, Dan Harlan. In honoring her wishes she will be cremated and there will no public service. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is serving the family.
