Phyllis Jean Woodall Jarvis, 80, of Huntington, formerly Sandyville passed Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. She was born September 30, 1936 in Charleston, WV a daughter of the late Howard and Marie Hanshaw Woodall. Phyllis was a very passionate quilter, talented painter, and gifted in arts in crafts. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of the Ripley Quilting Guild along with being a long time member of the Sandyville United Methodist Church. She was an LPN and often volunteered at Jackson General Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Oliver Jarvis, of Huntington; Daughter Belinda Sue Jarvis Baisden (Tom) of Huntington; Granddaughter Sarah Marie Bryant Fannin (Eric) of Gallipolis, OH; Brothers-In- Law Noble Jarvis of Wadsworth, OH and Larry Jarvis of Florida; Sister Janice Hensley (Basil) of Elkins, Floretta Nester of Newton, Naomi Myers of Virginia, and Loberta “Tiny” Neil of Summersville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Oliver Bryant; Brother-In-Law Marvin Jarvis; Sisters-In-Law Frankie Jarvis, Donna Drake, Mary Callaway, and Lucy Helmick. Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Jarrod Caltrider, Eric Fannin, and Tom Baisden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.
