Phyllis L. Morris

Phyllis L. Morris, 97, of Ripley, passed away Friday morning, January 31, 2014, at Eldercare following an extended illness. She was born December 22, 1915 at Ripley, daughter of the late Arthur and Vergie Williams Hinzman. She was a lifelong homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Ripley Baptist temple until her advancing age and illness prevented her attendance. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, William Morris, son Randall Morris, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Toby Smith (Dodd) of Wappingers Falls NY, grandchildren Rikk Smith, Kristy Mount, Tim Morris and Julie Bain and nine great grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Phyllis Morris will be Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Ripley Baptist Temple with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Fairplain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations honoring Phyllis may be made to Eldercare to assist the staff with activities for the residents.
