Preacher Mat Baldwin

Preacher Mat Baldwin, 60 of Kenna went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2015 following a long illness. He was born March 6, 1955 at Charleston, a son of Vandora Viers Baldwin and the late Charles Baldwin. Mat was a man of many talents and worked as an investigator for Bethlehem Steel, security for Elk Run Coal, was a former West Virginia State Trooper stationed at many Detachments, a Principal at a Christian School and his last job was at Nova Rubber. He was the former Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his mother Vandora Baldwin, he is survived by his wife Karen Burka Baldwin; brother Stan Baldwin and his wife Pam and their daughter Meg Shores and her husband Chris and her children Brad and Colton; Mother in law Diane Burka; sister in law Jo Burka; brother in law Rick Burka and his wife Pam and their children Josh and Mallory; sister in law Pat Martin and her husband Dave and their children Chris and Austin Martin. ��Also survived by mother-in-law Diane Burka ��A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Johnny Jones officiating. Friends may call on the family on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11:30 am Monday, August 24, 2015 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. The family would like to say thank you to Nova Rubber, the many churches for the prayers and kindness, Hospice of Charleston, Holly McComas RN, Hubbard Hospice House, the Medical Staff at St. Francis Hospital Floors 4 East and 4 West and a special thank you to Dr. Steven Zekan and Staff.
