Ralph Casto, 68, of Silverton, West Virginia, passed away on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after fighting a three-year battle with multiple myeloma. Ralph was born on August 12, 1957, the son of the late Clair and Neva Casto.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, David; a niece, Renea; a great-nephew, Dominic; and a great-niece, Brayleigh.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy Casto; his daughters, Misty (Colby) Pepper of Silverton, and Cassie (Jeremy) Comer of Medina; his four beautiful granddaughters’, Jaylyn (Kanyon), Cayla, Abigail, and Ada; and his great-grandson, Keaton who he was so excited to meet. He is also survived by two brothers, Clayton(Mazie) Casto and David (Deloris) Casto, and one sister, Barbara (Fred) Hall.
For the past 35 years, Ralph was the heart and legacy behind Casto’s Greenhouses. He loved working side by side with his family every day and took great pride in watching his hard work grow into beautiful plants that brought happiness to so many.
Ralph openly shared his cancer journey with friends and customers, gaining an army of supporters who fought and prayed alongside him every step of the way. His strength, faith, and determination inspired so many.
He was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and optimistic spirit. Ralph had a gift for making friends wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Ralph never lost his battle with cancer. Instead, he was simply called home to his Heavenly Father, who healed him completely.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, faith, and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to give special thanks to his brother, David “Shorty” Casto, for being his sidekick throughout his entire battle. They would also like to thank the staff at the CAMC Cancer Center, the CICU staff at Charleston Memorial hospital, and all of the friends and members of the community who supported Ralph and the family with prayers, kindness, and encouragement.
