Ralph Clayton Easter

Ralph Clayton Easter, 73, of Ripley went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He passed away at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston WV, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Ralph was born on February 3, 1943 in Ripley, WV to Ralph Easter and Pauline (Wheatley) Easter. He is survived by his wife Danita (Steele) Easter; son, Jeff Easter of Ripley; daughter, Alicia Easter of Greenville, NC; grandsons, Ian and Conner of Greenville, NC, and niece, Rhonda (Easter) McCutcheon of Evans, WV. Also survived by stepmother Marie (Winters) Easter, brother Bill (Sharon) Easter, and sisters Barbara (Mike) Hyre, and Janet Lemley, all of Ripley. Ralph attended Ripley High School and then went on to join the Army where he was stationed in Germany. He worked for the Columbia Gas/Mountaineer Gas Company for over 20 years and then worked an additional 10 years for the Oil and Gas industry in the setting of land rights. Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to ride motorcycles. He got great joy from being outdoors and in nature. But his greatest enjoyment came from playing golf, and some of his greatest friendships were formed on the greens. Ralph dearly loved his wife, children, and family, and was dearly loved in return. His laughter and smile will be greatly missed but always remembered and cherished. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home Ripley with Pastors David Fields and Jeff Kessler officiating. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Burial will with Military Rites by the Jackson County Honor Guard will be in the Salt Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
