Ralph Edward "Ed" Rankin Ii

October 4, 1967 — June 3, 2022

Ralph Edward “Ed” Rankin, II, 54, of Washington, WV passed away June 3, 2022, following a sudden illness. Ed loved God, his family, and his country. He was a proud Army veteran who enjoyed baseball and time with family and friends. Ed fought and won his battle against cancer. He was a special guy with a huge, giving heart. Ed is survived by his devoted dad, Ralph Rankin of Washington, his favorite big sister and brother-in-law Tammy and Scott Clarkson of Ravenswood; beloved nieces Whitney (Brad) Snyder of Gorham, NH and Lauren (Nathan) Withers of Clarksville, TN and precious great-niece Riley Snyder, who affectionately called him Uncle Head and made him smile that great big, wonderful smile of his. He is also survived by an aunt, uncles, several cousins, and so many friends. Preceding him in death was his mother Laura Kerns Rankin, whom he missed dearly. As well as his grandparents and great-grandparents that he spent so much time with growing up, Winfred and Hilda Gandee Rankin and Uriah and Myrtle Parsons Gandee. He loved us fiercely and we are better for it. He will be greatly missed. As he wanted, a private interment will be held at the Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Cottageville.
