Ralph E. Nuckles

Ralph Nuckles, 88, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at CAMC General Hospital following a short illness. He was born July 13, 1930 at Given, WV a son of the late Virgil O. and Acel Ella Dillon Nuckles. Ralph worked as a customer service manager at Kaiser Aluminum and retired with 30 plus years of service. He was also a former mayor of Ripley where he served a term of 6 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and raising a garden. He is survived by his children Patti Sue Nuckles Snyder (Bob) of Evans, Ronald Nuckles (Lisa) of Fountaintown, IN, and Robert Nuckles of Charleston; Brothers Charles Nuckles (Janet) of Ripley, Gene Nuckles of Ripley, Troy Nuckles of Ripley, and Roy Nuckles (Linda) of Ripley; Grandchildren Marcus Nuckles of Ripley, Melissa Snyder Kessell (Larry) of Ripley, Kim Nuckles Peck (Steve) of Monrovia, IN, Melinda Snyder Friend (Mark) of Ravenswood, and Devon Nuckles (Stephanie) of Charleston. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Lois Marie Karr Nuckles, as well as granddaughter-in-law Michelle Nuckles Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Monday, May 20th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Dr. Ford Price officiating. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
