Randy Poling

February 11, 1958 — May 15, 2021

After a year long battle with cancer, Randal "Randy" Scott Poling, 63, of Crystal River, Florida left this world behind on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at home with loving family beside him. Born in Charleston, WV on February 11, 1958 to B. Noel and Evelyn Marie Harpold Poling, he grew up in Ripley, WV. He was always very active in sports both in school and the community. Many say that whatever sport he played, he always excelled. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1976 and attended WVU for a year and a half. After attending WVU, he worked in the oil and gas fields in WV. He moved to Florida in 1985 where he worked mostly in the cabinet industry as a computerized saw operator then later as a counter top installer. Randy was a die-hard WVU fan through and through. He also loved hunting, fishing, golf, ball games and bon fires. He relished in spending these times with family and friends. He cherished his family above all else in life. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Benjamin and Ada Ernestine Poling; maternal grandparents, James Albert and Blanche Marie Harpold; his parents, B. Noel and Evelyn Marie Poling. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Melissa Elizabeth Hilliard Poling; two daughters, Sida Lee Hyde (Andrew), Wakefield RI, Erica Leann Poling, Beverly Hills, FL; and a son, Robert Stephen Poling, Crystal River, FL. He had 4 grandchildren, Willa Kate, Calla Claire, Weston James Hyde, Wakefield, RI and Eliza Marie Poling, Beverly Hills, FL. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Michael Noel Poling, Ripley, WV, Shirl Ann Baggett, Canton, GA, Jennifer Leigh Orme (Steve), Hutto, TX, and Stephen B. Poling (Shirley), Ripley, WV. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews whom he also loved dearly. His capacity for love and compassion toward all he knew was boundless and his humor contagious. He had a special way with kids and animals. A life such as this deserves a Celebration of Life which will take place on October 16, 2021 at Waybright Funeral Home from 11-12 p.m. with a time of sharing starting at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or your local Hospice.
