Rebecca Ann Painter Keller went to her heavenly home on October 3, 2017 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. “Becky” as she was known by family and friends was 66 years of age. She was one of the most kind and caring individuals you have ever encountered. In addition, she spent her days being generous, willing, helpful, delightful and funny. She greeted everyone with a smile on her face. During her 47 years as an insurance agent with Landfried and later Landfried- Fanta Insurance of Ripley she became a friend to hundreds of people. She was known for treating everyone with the same dignity and respect regardless of their station in life. Becky is survived by her husband Mike, children Robert (Shannon) Keller of Pinehurst, NC, Ryan (Shanee) Keller of Evans, and Beth (Scott) Baldwin of Given; Grandchildren, Owen Keller, RaeAnn Baldwin, Noah Holley, and Minette Jones; Sisters Doris (Sterl) Ocheltree of Ripley; Donna Keller of Mineral Wells; Sue Black (David) of Fayetteville, NC; and brother Eddie (Louise) Painter of Given. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins are included in the extended family. Her parents Ray “Sam” Painter and Bernice Ankrum Painter preceded her in death. Becky was as active member of Calvary United Methodist where she participated in United Methodist Women, Sunday School, and blood mobile. She was a member of the Ripley Police Commission, the Ripley High School Alumni Association, and a past member of the Lions Club. She was a 4-H leader for 15 years and earned the Jackson County Outstanding 4-H leader of the year award in 2008-2009. She was well known throughout the county for her yeast dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, and pepperoni rolls that she generously shared for fund raising events. The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice for their outstanding care during Becky’s illness. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty. In lieu of flowers, Becky’s request is to contribute to the Food Pantry of Calvary United Methodist Church, 205 Court Street, Ripley, WV 25271.
