Rebecca J. Mitchell

Rebecca Jane Mitchell, born on September 4, 1945, died November 2, 2024. She was a former teacher in Mason County, a humanitarian, a great prayer warrior and reader of children’s books.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ottmer B. Mitchell, her parents Merrill and Gladys Williams and a sister, Elaine Taylor.

She is survived by her children Ottmer B. Mitchell III and Barbara Bascue (Joshua); grandson Ottmer B. Mitchell IV; several brothers and sister as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special family friends Emma Dominguez and Shaumber Zirkle.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 8th at Waybright Funeral Home with her brothers James and Mark Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
