Rex A. Mcintosh

Rex Anderson McIntosh, 78 of Ripley, WV, passed away, May 23, 2024 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC.

He was born December 3, 1945 in Irwin, Tennessee, son of late Charlie and Edith Maddox McIntosh. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran having served from 1963 to 1968. He was a master Electrician for United Engineers and worked in several different countries across the world during his career. Rex enjoyed woodworking, making walking sticks to give away, birdwatching, gardening, loved helping people. He enjoyed talking with anyone and telling stories but truly enjoyed building and remodeling and helping neighbors in need. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Rex loved the tight knit community in Kenna near Grasslick Baptist Church where he and Sandra lived for the past 22 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra McIntosh.

He is survived by children, Paul Sauls ( Laurie Sauls) of Hahira, GA, Eric Sauls (Kim Sauls) of Ravenswood, WV; grandchildren, Daniel Sauls (Edith Hastings), Ryan Sauls (Katie Sauls), Alex Lovelace (Christina Lovelace) Alex Lovelace (Christina Lovelace), Steven Sauls, Andrew Sauls (Madi Sauls), Nathan Sauls (Kaylee Sauls), Kaiah Sauls, Kayte Sauls, Jadyn Sauls, David Sauls, Alyson Sauls, Jordan Didion (Spencer Didion), Ashley Sauls;12 great grandchildren. Rex is also survived by his fiancée Vicki Gonzales.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Grasslick Baptist Church Cemetery, Pleasant Valley Road, Given, with Pastor Herman Robinson officiating and Veterans Honors provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made in Rex’s memory to Grasslick Baptist Church.
