Richard J. Mills

Richard Jack Mills, 55 of Given, passed away February 26, 2024 in Ripley, WV.

He was born December 28, 1968 in Akron, OH, son of the late Freddie and Juanita Miller Mills. Richard enjoyed helping anyone in need. He was a member of the Southern Jackson County Fire Department (Station 70) and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He enjoyed the Jackson County Livestock Market and worked there along with his family. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving and supportive father that enjoyed getting his daughters to wrestling and sporting events in all types of weather. He could do almost anything and taught his children how to hunt, fish, build anything and how to survive.

He is survived by his children, Brianna Riffle and Jessica (Pyper) Roe; his former wife, Heather Mills; brother Freddie (Tammy) Mills; brother-in-law Robert E. Lee II; father-in-law Robert E. Lee Sr.; grandchildren, Grayson Riffle, Hadley Riffle, Octavia Roe and Amara Drummer; niece, Paisley Lee; nephews, Freddie E. Mills, Mason Mills and Fisher Lee and numerous aunts, Uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol A. Lee.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Scotty Elswick officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
