Rickie M. Ashby, 66 of Ravenswood passed away at his home suddenly on January 1, 2016. He was born July 3, 1949 at Kenna, a son of the late Earnest and Leona Coleman Ashby. Rick was a self-taught mechanic, following in his dad's footsteps, and work for Mr. Tractor for over 25 years before retiring in 2011. He was a great story teller and talker and his hobby was writing stories. He loved the outdoors and working with his hands. He loved his family and his greatest joy was playing games and telling stories with his grandchildren, Stacy and Keysha, whom he called "His Girls." He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beverly Casto Ashby; his son Billy (Angie) Ashby; his grandchildren Stacy and Keysha Ashby; Brothers Mike (Reva) Ashby of Kenna and John (Gay) Ashby of Ravenswood; Sisters Chris (Joe) Webb of Ohio and Evelyn Stanley of Ravenswood. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Billy Casto and Jarrod Caltrider officiating. Burial will be in the Alonzo Casto Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
